National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) reported smooth operations during the barangay elections.
The power company had activated a task force to ensure reliable supply of power for the local polls.
In a statement, NGCP said the country’s transmission grid did not encounter any major system disturbance and that its 2013 Power Task Force Election was deactivated on Oct. 29.
The task force operated 24 hours a day for three days, NGCP said.
PTFE personnel were on call at the transmission operator’s Overall Disaster Command Center in Diliman, Quezon City.
NGCP said the task force monitored the system condition, restoration activities, and reports from the regional command centers and relayed all information to the Department of Energy and other agencies.
The company said it would organize a similar task force to ensure reliable power transmission services during crucial national events, such as elections. The corporation continues to conduct regular maintenance activities and expansion projects to enhance the quality of electricity delivered to the public.
