MANILA, Philippines—Robinsons Land Corp. plans to roll out three more budget hotels under the Go Hotels brand, thereby expanding its hotel room capacity to over 1,200 by next year.
“We are building strategically located branches in the Ortigas central business district, in Iloilo and in Butuan,” Go Hotels general manager Elizabeth Gregorio said in a press statement on Thursday.
Go Hotels Ortigas Center will have 198 rooms when it opens in the last quarter of the year while the Iloilo branch, which will open in the first quarter of next year, will have 167 rooms, making it the chain’s biggest branch outside Metro Manila. The Iloilo branch will also have the biggest conference room among all Go Hotels branches, with a maximum capacity of 100 persons.
The Butuan branch, which will have 102 rooms, will open in the fourth quarter of 2014.
“These are exciting times for Philippine tourism as the hospitality business opens more outlets, especially in Metro Manila, in anticipation of the arrival of more tourists because of the government’s focus on the industry,” Gregorio said.
Gregorio noted that Go Hotels’ expansion was carefully carried out with the needs of the traveller as top priority. Thus, Go Hotels Iloilo and Butuan are located within a Robinsons Malls complex while the Ortigas branch is just a couple of minutes walk or stone’s throw away from Robinsons Galleria, she said.
“Go Hotels Ortigas Center will serve the growing number of business travellers and tourists visiting the central business district and the malls in the area,” said Gregorio.
The Iloilo branch beefs up the chain’s presence in the Visayas, where it already has branches in Bacolod, Dumaguete, and in Tacloban.
All three new branches will have restaurants, spa services, transport service and convenience stores to cater to the needs and comfort of guests.
To date, the Go Hotels chain has over 700 rooms in the six existing branches: EDSA-Mandaluyong, Tacloban, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa and Otis-Manila.
“We will be offering special rates to guests as a pre-opening treat. All they need is to check our online booking system at gohotels.ph,” Gregorio said.
