IMP shifts to ‘green’ businesses, changes name

Information technology firm Imperial Resources Inc. (IMP) plans to acquire a new corporate identity and embark on new businesses including environmental management, utilities and rural development.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday, Imperial said its board of directors approved a proposal to amend the company’s articles of incorporation to change its corporate name to “Century Sun Services Inc.” and extend its corporate life span for another 50 years.

The company also mapped out plans to amend its primary business purposes to indicate the following: 1) study and research the benefits of natural hygiene and, 2) extend financial and technical assistance to countryside farmers and fishermen.

In its disclosure, Imperial indicated plans to pursue—relation to the first primary purpose—the rehabilitation and restoration of rain forests, legacy trees for “superior” woods, fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts and honey bees.

The firm also wants to initiate activities to support foreign migratory fowls and native fowls; rehabilitate and restore rivers, streams and waterways; and support small native reptiles; service marine cargo terminal transport facilities, ship wrecking and salvaging.

Imperial added that it would also initiate support for kelp, small tropical marine, fresh water fishes and marine life; as well as generate, store and distribute electric power.

It would also provide “after life” services; and design and make prototypes of mini robots and drones.

For the second purpose, Imperial plans to extend education, high school, grade school and vocational courses such as culinary, cooking, housekeeping, house maids, valets and car driving, industrial art courses, like, welding, plumbing, electrical and vehicular mechanics, carpentry and fine cabinet-making, security service and self-defense. The company also wants to promote the arts like photography, painting, sculpture, Ikebana, Ikenobo and silk flower making.
