Zuellig, Adec putting up KPO firm in PH
Multinational pharmaceutical firm Zuellig Pharma is forming a joint venture with global knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm Adec Solutions to deliver sub-contracted back-office solutions to pharmaceutical companies around the world.
In a recent statement, these firms said the new company would be called Pharma KPO, to be owned equally by the two partners.
“The venture will cater to the global pharmaceutical and health-care sectors, providing them knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services,” a joint statement from both companies said.
KPO typically refers to non-voice, complex knowledge-driven services, while BPO is more commonly associated with process-driven, voice-based customer care and transactional services.
“Pharma KPO will leverage ADEC Group’s and Zuellig Pharma’s commitment to their shareholders to proactively anticipate and capitalize on industry trends to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience,” ADEC Group CEO James Donovan said.
“Our objective is to facilitate operational changes by streamlining costly and repetitive back office and support processes to enable clients to refocus on core strategic activities,” he said.

ADEC marketing manager Richard de Castro said the new venture will take advantage of the Philippines’ KPO capabilities, coupled with the high number of health-care professionals the country’s schools churn out every year.
