Alphaland opens leisure club in Makati
MANILA, Philippines—Upscale property developer Alphaland Corp. has opened the newest private leisure club in the metropolis, The City Club, an integral component of its mixed-use complex on Ayala Avenue Extension.
The two-hectare The City Club, which occupies the top three floors of the six-story podium of Alphaland’s Makati Place, is being pitched as a “prime destination for Makati’s elite and discerning crowd.”
“I’m not trying to put down any other club but our club has more facilities than any other club in Makati, in BGC and anywhere else in the Philippines and we are so proud of it,” Alphaland president Mario Oreta said during the opening ceremonies on Thursday night. The guest of honor was Vice President Jejomar Binay.
As of the opening date, the new club had 750 members, Oreta said in an interview.
The City Club is selling shares at P1.5 million each, but guests who attended Thursday night’s launch were offered shares at P1 million each only for that night. Some of the guests were also members of Alphaland’s other high-end leisure estate projects such as the island-resort club Balesin and the upcoming yacht club Marina.
