Phoenix Petroleum ready to face smuggling charges filed by BoC, says lawyer
MANILA, Philippines—Phoenix Petroleum Philippines said they are ready to face head-on the smuggling complaint filed against them by the Bureau of Customs (BoC).
Lawyer Raymond Zorrilla, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines assistant vice president for external affairs, in a phone interview told INQUIRER.net that “we have nothing to hide.”
“We are a publicly listed company and our records are up for scrutiny anytime.”
While they have yet to receive a copy of the complaint, Zorrilla doubts the basis of the BoC complaint.
“We are certain that this [complaint] has no leg to stand on. Our shipment is covered with necessary documents,” he said.
