IBM opens BPO facility in Laguna

US-based technology giant IBM Corp. has opened a business process outsourcing (BPO) facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna as part of its strategy to develop opportunities in so-called “next wave cities” in the Philippines.

The opening of the Sta. Rosa BPO—which followed the launching of a similar facility in Naga City in May—reinforces the Philippines’ growing importance to IBM. The country is among IBM’s top 20 priority growth markets globally.

“The Philippines remains one of the strategic locations in IBM’s global delivery network that integrates capabilities, assets, and skills without borders,” said Cassandra Soto, country leader for Global Process Services (GPS) Delivery at IBM.

“With our second global delivery facility in Sta. Rosa City this year, IBM is in a better position to provide premier career opportunities to more local talent, while helping enhance the country’s global competitiveness in the business process solutions industry,” Soto said.

According to IBM, Sta. Rosa and Naga City are among the country’s ‘next wave cities’ or growth centers outside Metro Manila for BPOs due to their large talent pool, steady telecom infrastructure and support facilities and favorable investment climate.

Located in Nuvali, the new facility provides IBM Global Process Services (GPS) another strategic location from which it can deliver innovative business solutions to global clients, covering customer relationship management, human resources, application services, finance and accounting and supply chain management.
