MANILA, Philippines–Philippine Airlines will start accepting donations for flood victims of tropical storm ”Maring” from the provinces for free airlift to Manila.
Recognized charitable and civic groups from any of the 30 provincial stations where PAL and PAL Express fly may send donations to their counterparts in Manila by contacting the PAL Foundation.
Preferred donations include medicines and medical supplies, powdered Binfant milk, hygiene products including new underwear, indigenous foods such as dried fish and dried fruits, ready to eat food, etc.
Donations must be limited to goods not readily available in the affected areas in Metro Manila and Luzon. Canned goods such as sardines as well as noodles and bottled water are not eligible for the free airlift.
Shippers, who must be registered with the SEC, must first contact the PAL Foundation at tel. nos. (02) 8512980 or (02) 8526096 (telefax) or email palfoundation@pal.com.ph, relaying name, contact information of consignee and content of shipment.
Shipper will be informed when the donation is approved for airlift. Consignees may pick up the shipment from the PAL or PAL Express Cargo offices in Manila.
All donations intended for Maring victims will be loaded on the flights on space-available basis.
The free donation airlift is part of the PAL Foundation Humanitarian Cargo Grant program.
