Philippine Airlines has tapped Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, to provide IT solutions and services that will assist the national flag carrier in its ongoing expansion program.
In a statement, Amadeus said PAL could now use the Amadeus Market Information (MIDT) and Amadeus Air Traffic solutions, which were expected to help drive revenue growth and increase the airline’s market share as it expands international flights.
According to Amadeus, the MIDT will enable PAL to monitor global market dynamics and identify profitable routes while developing more effective sales and marketing plans.
The Amadeus Air Traffic will help PAL in making accurate estimates of air passenger volume for any origin and destination worldwide. It mines data from a large number of sources including low cost carriers, direct airline online sales, airport data, civil aviation organizations and global distribution systems.
These systems will thus allow PAL to evaluate current and possible new routes, identify the best connections for long haul flights, optimize planning and scheduling according to true demand and predict volatile market changes.
Amadeus will also provide PAL with consulting and training services to analyze data and use the new solutions in the most efficient way.
