TOKYO–Tokyo stocks finished the morning session flat on Friday, erasing earlier losses, after Wall Street vaulted to new records and as the yen weakened against the dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged up 0.27 points to 14,472.85 by the break, while the Topix index of all first section shares was up 0.44 percent, or 5.26 points, at 1,200.03.
