RE supplier expands to real estate

Energy supplier Constellation Energy Corp. (CEC), a subsidiary of EnerAsia Renewables Corp. of Canada, is diversifying its business interests to include real estate, starting with a P450-million mixed-use condominium in Cagayan de Oro City.

In a statement, CEC claimed that its Primavera Residences was the first eco-friendly building in Cagayan de Oro City.

CEC said it had partnered with ItalPinas Euroasian Design and Eco-Development Corp. (ITPI) for the project. CEC said the project had earned both firms local and international awards for their “pioneering work” in the city.

“Constellation Energy’s venture into green architecture is but a natural consequence of our company’s full thrust in exploring multi-technology RE projects,” said CEC chair Jose Leviste, whose firm has geothermal, wind and hydroelectric projects with the Department of Energy.

Italian architect Romolo V. Nati, ITPI chair and CEO, said that among the eco-friendly design features of the 10-storey, twin-tower Primavera Residences was the cross-ventilation layout of the building to increase natural airflow and illumination.

The 160-unit Tower A of Primavera Residences was completed in 2012.
