Asian Carmakers offers FlexiLease option for BMW ownership

Why buy a new car and tie up a big part of your financial resources when you can lease and get the same car of your dreams at a fraction of the upfront cost?

That is the proposition put forward by Asian Carmakers Corp. (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, which believes there is a market in the Philippines that is looking for other ways to get their hands on the latest models churned out by the manufacturing facilities of German automaker BMW.

With the FlexiLease program, interested individuals and corporate customers need only to put down a refundable deposit of 10 percent of the BMW model’s value, sign a lease of between 24 and 36 months and they can already get their chosen BMW vehicle within five to seven working days.

Enjoy the benefits

This way, qualified customers will get to enjoy the benefits of driving their own car while freeing up funds for other major expenses or to take advantage of profit opportunities.

For example, if you want to get a BMW 116i, the deposit is about P229,000 and monthly lease is P44,980 for 36 months. The monthly lease includes comprehensive insurance, registration with the Land Transportation office, and standard maintenance services.

And since BMW is offering a special introductory offer, customers who will avail themselves of the three-year lease will get half off on the lease rate for the first year. So for the BMW 116i, that means only P22,490 a month for the first 12 months.

ACC introduced FlexiLease as part of its celebration of a Decade of Leadership. It claims that for 10 straight years, the BMW brand has dominated the luxury vehicle segment in the Philippines, ending 2012 with a 33-percent market share.

“As a way of sharing the success we’ve had for the past 10 years in the local market, we’re introducing FlexiLease as an additional option for Filipinos to experience the BMW brand. For this program, we have partnered with Asia United Fleet Management Services Inc.,” said ACC president Maricar Parco in a statement.

“This program offers attractive benefits such as low deposit, low monthly fees and an easy way to upgrade to a new BMW when new models are introduced,” Parco added.

The offer is particularly attractive to those who do not get emotionally attached to their vehicle and instead want a new car every two years, a cost-effective car plan for their business or profession and avoid a huge upfront cost.

Entrepreneurs, small business owners and top corporations with expatriate staff will also find the lease option worth considering since the monthly payments can be classified as rental expenses, which are tax deductible.

Options

Then at the end of the lease term, the customer has three options: return the car and use the deposit to begin a new lease term for another brand new BMW; renew the lease contract for another term; or, end the lease term and return the car.

Car leasing is a popular way to own vehicles in other countries, but remains quite a new concept in the Philippines. But even then, BMW believes that it will gain traction.

“We believe that this is the right time to consider FlexiLease. Aside form designing this program for top Filipino professionals, we are also very optimistic on the Philippine economy. With the recent upgrade of the country’s sovereign debt rating, we anticipate an influx of investors and their expatriate staff. FlexiLease is a program which we believe is very suitable for them,” said Parco.

“In ACC, we are always finding ways to make customers experience sheer driving pleasure. FlexiLease is definitely one of the most convenient ways to experience it,” she added.
