990AM: What’s the impact of global recession to OFWs in the US

MANILA, Philippines—Recession in the US will affect mainly the Overseas Filipino Workers, said former Department of Budget and Management Sec. Benjamin Diokno, in an interview on “In Desk Corner” of 990 AM Radyo Inquirer, Wednesday morning.

“One out of 10 Filipinos has relatives in the United States. In the past, some OFWs went back to the Philippines to sell their houses and other properties for fresh capital,” said Diokno.

He also discussed the impact on foreign direct investments and our export industry.

“These will affect the private-public partnership projects of our present administration,” he said.
