Century Properties sees mall opening in Makati by 4th quarter of 2013
MANILA, Philippine—Property developer Century Properties Group Inc. said its first shopping mall project — Century City Mall along Kalayaan Avenue, Makati – would open by the fourth quarter of the year as targeted.
CPG said the mall, located within the 3.4-hectare mixed-use project Century City, would be the newest stand-alone retail center to open in Makati in six years.
With about 110 retail spaces totaling 17,000 square meters of net leasable space, the five-story mall has a gross floor area of 49,143 square meters while three basement floors have been allotted for visitors’ parking.
Ahead of the completion of the new mall, CPG co-chief operating officer and managing director Marco Antonio said the sign up of retail space for Century City Mall had exceeded expectations.
“We are very excited to open Century City Mall because of its mix of brands, high end cinemas, dining options, and concept stores. It will be open to the public, and will also serve as the neighborhood lifestyle and retail center for Century City residents, tenants and guests,” Antonio said.
“We expect to generate high foot traffic at Century City Mall because of its exciting mix of retail tenants that will complement what is presently available in other malls within Makati. In the process, this world-class retail development will also contribute to the enhancement of northern Makati’s landscape, realizing our vision for a truly Modern Makati,” he added.
The Century City development also includes the luxury residential towers Gramercy Residences, Knightsbridge Residences, the Versace Home-interior designed Milano Residences, Trump Tower at Century City and the outpatient medical building called Centuria Medical Makati, designed in partnership with GE Healthcare. Completion of projects began in December 2012 and is expected to run through 2016.
Aside from Century City, CPG is also the developer behind the masterplanned properties Acqua Private Residences in Mandaluyong City, featuring the branded towers Acqua Livingstone interior design by MissoniHome and Acqua Iguazu yoo inspired by Starck, in collaboration with John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck; the Azure Urban Resort Residences in Parañaque City, with a Beach Club designed by international style icon Ms. Paris Hilton; and the Residences at Commonwealth by Century in Quezon City.
