MANILA, Philippines–The SM Group of tycoon Henry Sy has announced the opening of its newest hotel property, Park Inn by Radissons Davao, adding 204 rooms to its growing hotel portfolio.
SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC), a subsidiary of SM Investments Corp., announced the recent inauguration of the new hotel in Davao, described as the first “next generation” mid-scale Park Inn by Radisson hotel brand to be established in Asia Pacific.
Park Inn by Radisson Davao is the second in the Philippines managed by one of the world’s largest hotel chains, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, after Radisson Blu in Cebu.
The new hotel is situated beside the SM Lanang Premier Mall and the SMX Convention Center in Davao. Contemporary rooms and suites offer beautiful landscape views of the islands and highlands in Davao City.
This property also features a spacious lobby lounge meant to be venue for socializing and relaxation. It showcases local flavors through RBG (Restaurant, Bar & Grill) which offers locally-inspired specialties and classic dishes. The hotel also offers amenities such as meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a pool bar and lounge and a fitness center. The hotel offers free high-speed Internet.

Park Inn by Radisson is Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s full-service mid-market global brand with 126 hotels throughout the world and 53 hotels under development, as of March 2012.
The SM group said the Davao hotel adheres to Park Inn by Radisson’s “Adding Color to Life” service philosophy which is designed to “ensure a fun, comfortable and uncomplicated stay.”
The grand launch of Park Inn on March 22, 2013 was graced by Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo and Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group (Asia Pacific) president Simon Barlow.
Aside from Park Inn by Radisson, other hotels in SM’s portfolio are Radisson Blu in Cebu, Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay, and Pico Sands at Hamilo’s Pico de Loro Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas. Recently, SMHCC also signed a management agreement with Hilton Worldwide for the latter to manage the Conrad Manila hotel at the Mall of Asia complex which is scheduled to open in mid-2015.
