MANILA, Philippines—For the second consecutive year, Smart Communications Inc. has dominated the Anvil Awards, receiving a total of 14 awards for initiatives in brand communication, digital communication, disaster preparedness and response, education, environment, health, human resources, livelihood and “technopreneurship.”
Smart received seven excellence awards and seven merit awards at the 48th Anvil Awards held recently. Its excellence awards are for: Live More, its multiplatform brand campaign that emphasizes the importance of reliable communication services; the Live More TV commercial; Live Well, Live More, its holistic employee wellness program; Project Noah (or Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards mobile), an android app of the Department of Science and Technology’s website for disaster prevention and mitigation; Project SHINE (or Secured Health Information Network and Exchange), its flagship mHealth project that aims to raise the efficiency of healthcare facilities through mobile and ICT technologies; Project Zero, an upcycling and livelihood collaboration with lifestyle designer PJ Arañador which promotes the use of zero electricity, zero carbon-emissions and results in zero unemployment; and S@FE.ph, a campaign that taps the power of the Internet and social media to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
In 2012, Smart also topped the Anvil Awards with 31 awards, making it the first company to achieve such a feat in Anvil history.
Dubbed as the Oscars of public relations in the Philippines, the Anvil Awards are given annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines to outstanding PR programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values, and genuine service to the community and society.
