Overall sales of Ford Philippines doubled in February, jumping 108 percent year-on-year to 865 units.
Ford attributed its “best-ever February performance” to the strong demand for its wide range of vehicles.
“We’re off to a very strong start to the year, as customers continue to respond positively to our full lineup of Ford vehicles,” Randy Krieger, president of Ford Philippines, said in a statement.
Last January, Ford showed it was geared for a good start as its January sales rose by 123 percent year-on-year.
“So many new-to-Ford customers are appreciating our focus on the fuel efficiency, smart technology, quality and safety of our vehicles, which we’re supporting with an ongoing commitment to providing the very best Ford customer experience,” added Krieger.
Topping February sales was the all-new Ford Ranger with retail sales of 251 units, ahead of Ford’s lineup expansion.
Ford will launch next month Ford Ranger Wildtrak at the Manila International Auto Show.
Sales of Ford’s SUVs also delivered strong monthly performances in February, with the popular Ford Everest family SUV recording retail sales of 191 units.
The Ford Explorer also contributed to the February sales with 64 units sold, bringing customer deliveries to nearly 1,000 units since its local market launch.
The record month was also supported by a strong performance of Ford Focus, which saw sales rise 16 percent year-on-year from the previous generation Focus to 87 units.
The Ford Mustang sports car added another 13 units in February, bringing total customer deliveries to 183 since it was launched in the Philippines.
