Pontefino Hotel and Residences in Batangas City was once again the proud home of the Miss Earth International pageant as it hosted 24 beautiful aspiring delegates from all over the world.
A swimwear exhibition and resortwear competition was held at the poolside area of Pontefino Hotel. It was an evening graced by local luminaries as well as international figures and artists who served as judges for this part of the competition. This is the second time the Pontefino Hotel and Residences has played host to the international pageant.
Pontefino hotel is an upscale 60-room accommodation at the heart of booming Batangas City that offers a unique combination of hotel-like facilities and amenities, modern home conveniences and a 24-hour guest services and security—all under one luxurious environment.
Exclusive townhouse dev’t
The Pontefino Residences is an exclusive Neo-Victorian-themed townhouse development composed of elegantly designed and fully furnished units that sit next to Pontefino Hotel. It has now 37 units already occupied and another 105 units to be ready in the coming year. No other residential development in the area comes close in offering such location and accessibility.
The event was hosted by one of the winners of the Ms Earth Philippines pageant held last May, Ms Earth Philippines-Water Samantha Purvor.
For the environment
After parading in their best swimsuits, the Ms Earth International candidates donned resortwear of their choice and showed not only their stunning beauty, but also the passion they had for the environment, through heartfelt declarations of their personal advocacies. These ranged from Ms Australia’s (Jenna Seymour) pledge to raise awareness about global warming through educational programs for the youth, to Ms Zimbabwe’s (Dimitra Markou) promotion of reducing, reusing and recycling.
With all of the candidates flashing winning smiles and outfits that showed off their best assets, the sellout show proved to be a heated competition. At the end, the judges awarded the gold medal to Venezuela’s Osmariel Villalobos, the silver medal to Turkey’s Iknur Melis Durasi and bronze to Costa Rica’s Fabiana Granados. The Netherlands’ Shauny Bult received the Ms Pontefino-Earth award.
The event was capped by live entertainment and with the delegates joining the audience for the dinner buffet. In the warm, lively atmosphere, the ladies cheerfully posed for photographs and chatted with guests as the evening competition gave way to convivial conversation and relaxation.
