Trust accounts’ reserve fund

Most foreign portfolio investors divested their Philippine interests last month, letting go of holdings of listed shares, government IOUs and time deposits, and took their cash back to the United States.

In what may be considered a sign of the growing maturity of Filipinos in handling their excess income, the amount of money held by banks in their trust accounts has, of late, reportedly reached some P3 trillion.
