No one doubts that this Pangasinan city produces the best tasting bangus (milkfish) in the country. But unknown to many, Dagupan is fast becoming a major producer of the expensive fish, lapu-lapu (grouper).
Bangus (milkfish) produced in this city and some Pangasinan towns will finally get a “brand” after concerned agencies committed their participation in the bangus branding program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
This Pangasinan city may have conquered the culinary world with its tasty “bangus” (milkfish), but a marine biologist hopes to conquer another market with what he is raising in his fishpond: organic bangus.
