Geothermal firm signs contracts with 2 suppliers

MAIBARARA Geothermal Inc. has signed engineering, procurement and construction contracts with Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corp. (Miescor) and Yokogawa Philippines Inc. as it pushes forward the completion of its 20-megawatt geothermal power plant in Mt. Makiling next year.

Maibarara prepares to spend $10M for 2 wells

Maibarara Geothermal Inc., which is developing a P2.8-billion geothermal power plant near Mt. Makiling, plans to spend roughly $10 million to drill two new wells to determine if it could increase the plant’s capacity from the initial estimate of 20 megawatts.

MGI, UPLB ink watershed management agreement

Maibarara Geothermal Inc., which is developing a P2.8-billion geothermal power plant in Mt. Makiling, signed last week an agreement with the University of the Philippines Los Baños for the proper and effective watershed management at the Maibarara service contract area in Batangas.
