The peso fell slightly on Thursday amid market’s expectation that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas would keep its key policy rates at record lows.

The peso fell slightly on Thursday amid market’s expectation that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas would keep its key policy rates at record lows.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas is open to further slashing its key policy rates, which recently have been brought to new record lows.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas kept on Thursday its key policy rates steady in the belief the current levels, now at historic lows, have been so far sufficient to help boost economic activity and avoid potential spike in inflation amid volatile global oil prices.
