PANGILINAN-LED SPi Global Holdings Inc. plans to double the size of its workforce and revenues over the next three to four years in line with the growth of the rest of the local business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.
In a briefing Tuesday, SPi, now a subsidiary of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), said it would grow its workforce both organically and through acquisitions.
?The goal is to double the workforce in the next four years,? SPi president and CEO Maulik Parekh said. The company has more than 14,000 employees, mostly in the Philippines. The company also has operations in India, Vietnam, North America and Europe.
At the same time, revenues are also expected to increase to $500 million in the same period from $185 million last year.
?SPi Global would like to take a leading role in the growth of the industry,? SPi chair Manuel V. Pangilinan said.
SPi is engaged in three outsourcing subsectors: healthcare service, content management and customer relations services. ?We expect double-digit growth in all of these verticals,? Parekh said.
The Business Processing Association of the Philippines sees the local outsourcing industry growing revenues to $11.6 billion in 2010 from $9.8 billion last year.
PLDT?s outsourcing unit, ePLDT Ventus Inc., and SPi Technologies Inc. were merged into SPi Global, making it the country?s biggest Filipino-owned BPO firm.
?Our move to consolidate aims to build public confidence and understanding of SPi Global?s strength in the content, health information management and customer relationship management outsourcing arena,? Parekh said.
?The creation of SPi Global leverages the strength and capabilities of two PLDT enterprises with decades of combined experience in BPO,? Pangilinan added.
The company said it planned to explore other areas in outsourcing like human resources and accounting services as more of SPi?s clients ask what else the company can offer.
?More and more clients want to deal with just a single vendor so we have had a lot of inquiries if we offer anything else,? Pangilinan said.
