MANILA, Philippines? The Bureau of Immigration deported two German fugitives wanted for serious crimes in their country.
In his report to Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan, Immigration Deportation Unit Head Antonio Rivera identified the deportees as Peter Uwe Muller, 45, and Joachim Heimrath, 58.
Rivera said the two were deported aboard Royal Dutch Airlines that flew them to Amsterdam, Holland en route to Frankfurt, Germany.
Both Mueller and Heimrath were arrested by BI operatives at the request of the German embassy in Manila who informed the bureau of their criminal record.
Mueller is wanted by a court in Frankfurt, where he was charged with multiple counts of massive fraudulent internet trading, while Heimrath is wanted for an undisclosed crime he allegedly committed 20 years ago.
The Germans were undocumented aliens at the time of arrest as their passports have been revoked by the German government.
?Our country is not a sanctuary for wanted criminals. And on this issue there can be no compromise,? the bureau said.
Records showed that last year the BI deported a total of 97 aliens, all of whom were blacklisted and banned from re-entering the Philippines.
