MANILA, Philippines ? Mobile services firm Smart Communications announced that it has entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire 100 percent of Chikka Holdings.
The purchase of Chikka is expected to be closed in December. Smart did not announce terms of the acquisition.
Chikka provides Internet and mobile services, the most popular of which is its PC software Chikka Messenger that allows text messaging between a phone and a PC.
Chikka is also the parent company of several online services including Bidshot, ChikkaTV, and Crushcow.
Its current CEO is Chito Bustamante while its founder is Dennnis Mendiola.
