Banks’ end-February bad loans ratio 4.7%, flat from January

MANILA, Philippines -- Banks' non-performing loans ratio was barely changed at 4.70 percent in February compared to 4.67 percent in January, but was lower than the year-earlier level of 5.53 percent, the central bank said on Friday.

Total NPLs rose to P97.82 billion ($2.3 billion) from P97.65 billion in January.

Total loan portfolio shrank to P2.08 trillion from P2.09 trillion, the central bank said in a statement.
