MANILA, Philippines ? Newly installed Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares said Friday the Bureau of Internal Revenue would continue to push for the implementation of the value-added tax on tollway fees.

The matter is still under discussion in a committee composed of representatives from the BIR, tollway regulators and operators.

?The BIR is an implementor of laws and so long as the law says a certain tax is due, we would have to administer that,? Henares said at a press briefing.
