MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine operations of Merck & Co (MSD). and Schering-Plough are expected to be integrated within a period of time, after the recent announcement of the merger between the two healthcare firms.
In a statement, MSD Philippines Managing Director Chris Tan said the local operations of both companies will remain separate for a certain period.
No official date has been set yet for the start of the integration of both companies’ merger.
“This is an exciting time for our company as we advance our position as a strong, global health care leader that will make a substantial difference to patients around the world…. We look forward to continuing to meet and exceed the needs of our customers and providing them with the high-quality products and service they have come to expect,” Tan said.
The Merck and Schering-Plough announced the completion of the merger last November 3. The new Merck’s official combined operations started the following day.
