Dollar up at 100 yen level in Asia trade

TOKYO -- The dollar rose to 100 yen in Asian trade on Friday, reaching its highest level against the Japanese unit in almost six months.

The greenback rose to 100.19 yen in Tokyo morning trade, up from 99.52 yen in New York late Thursday.

The dollar last traded above 100 yen in Tokyo in late October.
