itprosasia.com, with its mandate of bringing careers of its members to greater heights through continued learning and certification is proud to bring to the Philippines through BCP Asia its maiden training for the year 2009 --- ?Understanding BCM Principles and Good Practice.?
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Training ? Understanding BCM Principles and Good Practice is a 5-day workshop and certification exam based on the BCI Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) 2007 and closely related to BS25999 or the Business Continuity Planning Standard. The training courses, which can be taken per module, cover the essentials of Business Continuity Management as examined by the BCI Certification Examination.
Gina R. Duminy, President and CEO of itprosasia.com, said that the participants of the training will not only learn fundamental BCM concepts and principles, but will have the opportunity to be BCI Certified. She notes that experience in BCM is not a pre-requisite for joining.
?The training is open for people who play an essential role in their organization?s operations and who need a good background in Business Continuity,? she said.
After completing the training program, the participants will take the BCI Certification Examination which is an entry requirement to becoming BCI Certified or a BCI professional member. It is a two-hour multiple choice test to be administered by BCP Asia after the training.
Duminy says, "Business Continuity is most integral to businesses that cannot afford to have any down time ? because a few days or even just hours may mean huge revenue losses. Business continuity planning and management helps these companies respond to a dreaded question such as: Can you survive a disaster?"
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Training ? Understanding BCM Principles and Good Practice will be held on May 18 to 22, 2009 at the China Room of Ascott Makati (formerly Oakwood).
