MANILA, Philippines -- The UP Institute for Small Scale Industries will be conducting a seminar for small and medium enterprises entitled ?Capability Enhancement Seminar for Small and Medium Enterprises? on February 26?28, 2009 in Laoag City.

The two-and-a half day seminar aims to equip existing small entrepreneurs with tools for assessing their entrepreneurial readiness and hone their skills in planning, monitoring, and evaluating their own business. They will be required to prepare a strategic plan for their business for presentation to a panel for evaluation.

The succeeding seminars will be held in Tacloban, Leyte (March 26-28), Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte (May 19-21), Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental (August 4-6). Similar seminars have been held in the cities of Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro , Baguio and Tagaytay.

The seminars are a collaborative undertaking with the Industrial Guarantee and Loan Fund and the Small Enterprises Research and Development Foundation.
