Chinese shares up 0.16 percent in morning trade

SHANGHAI– Chinese shares were up 0.16 percent in early trading on Friday due to gains in US stocks and economic data which showed an improvement in the domestic economy, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 3.28 points to 2,107.71.
