Getting beautiful should be more than skin deep

By

AMBULO explains to her patient what needs to be done, teach her how to keep what she already attained and how to keep it that way after the procedure.

Beauty is what most of us want to have. In fact, billions are spent every year to find or devise ways that attain the elusive dream of physical perfection.

These include surgical procedures that have been designed to improve if not alter features in the face as well as in certain parts of the body that are deemed unwanted.

Of course, not everyone will be able to afford these relatively expensive medical procedures while a good number do not want the inevitable inherent pain or complications.

“A number of people who wanted to look more attractive, become slim or shapely are afraid to undergo procedures such as liposuction so they look for other ways that are not invasive but could still provide amazing results,” said Dr. Lalaine Estanislao-Ambulo, who recently opened Stesso Body Renewal Specialist on Don Alejandro Roces Avenue in Quezon City.

Target specific fats

“Fat cells are by nature very different than other cells, particularly on how they respond to stimuli such as temperature. The new technologies we have acquired and offer here could deliver energy to areas of fat by driving controlled heat deep within the fat cells and subsequently destroying them. Since there is no downtime with these procedures, patients can resume their regular activities immediately,” Ambulo explained.

She said that for people, who are not considered overweight but have stubborn pockets of unwanted fat that are not responding to diet and exercise, radio frequency may be a good option. “Radio frequency is a very versatile procedure that can be used on any area of the body—from the abdomen to very small features found in the face—with the same degree of success,” Ambulo said.

However, she reminded that their procedures will never be effective without patient cooperation. “If we are able to remove the fats and cellulites in the face or body but that person continue to eat unhealthy foods or let stress rule their day, it would be useless.”

“We go through every detail to explain what needs to be done, teach our clients how to keep what they already attained and how to keep it that way after the procedure. By keeping a close relationship with our clients, we are able to work together in reaching their goal,” Ambulo said.

The center features the latest and most modern slimming technologies and equipment that were imported from Europe and are not yet offered in any other slimming centers in the Philippines.

The center’s treatments vary in procedure and duration—some requiring a 10-day program while others from 15 to 20 days—depending on each client’s specific needs and actual condition.

Ambulo said: “For many people, getting rid of excess fat can be a lifelong battle. Whether it is undesirable love handles, flabby upper arms, pockets of fat can be difficult to reduce and sometimes diet and exercise are not enough to make a noticeable difference.” She shared that her center offers seven branded treatments, namely: Sveltissimo, Contorno, BodyFirma, LaMezzo, Intenso, VelaFino and FirmaBella.

“Sveltissimo employs infrared technology that enhances blood circulation and burns fat in a unique way. The stimulation of cells while keeping immune and digestive systems working at its peak enables the client to lose weight effectively, at a regular pace but without involving strenuous exercise,” explained Ambulo.

Radio frequency

An excellent nonsurgical option is Contorno that employs powerful yet safe radio frequency to melt and eliminate fats bulging in the arms, thighs and core (abdominal area).

BodyFirma, on the other hand, employs heat waves to stimulate collagen production, which firms skin and reduce the appearance of cellulites and stretch marks.

Using electric pulses, Contorno, specifically targets body tissues to eliminate unwanted facial and body fats resulting in reduced fatty deposits and cellulites and tightening of the skin.

A more powerful treatment at Stesso is the Intenso that employs a machine that produces acoustic sheer waves to shake off fat cell membranes, break them down gradually, and allow them to go out the body the natural way. Surrounding tissues are not harmed and results in a more contoured and firmer figure.

For the larger and more worrisome body areas where fats and cellulites have taken over, Stesso offers VelaFino, which employs radio frequency with lymphatic drainage that melts fat cells as well as improve blood circulation and bring forth firmer and contoured body.

Stesso’s FirmaBella is a procedure that helps eliminate double chin, sagging skin below the cheeks, fine lines around the eyes and stubborn wrinkles on the forehead.
