Manila Water makes profit of P2.6 B in first half of 2012

MANILA, Philippines—Manila Water Co. Inc. disclosed Wednesday that its net income for the first half of the year jumped by nearly a third over the same period last year as revenue grew by almost a fourth.

The Ayala-led water company’s report to the Philippine Stock Exchange showed that its profit grew 31 percent to P2.63 billion in the first six months of 2012 from just a little over P2 billion in the same period last year.

Revenue grew 24 percent to P7.2 billion from P5.8 billion.
