Driver’s license provider Ampi welcomes DoTC probe

MANILA, Philippines—Amalgamated Motors Philippines, Inc. (Ampi) welcomes any investigation the Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) will make regarding the recent glitch in the issuance of licenses, said AMPI spokesperson Melanie Cuevas in an interview on Sunday over Radyo Inquirer.
She said the DoTC probe will help set the record straight on what really caused the stoppage in the issuance of licenses since Monday last week.
“We welcome the probe. We are a transparent company. We have nothing to hide,” she said.
“We have been a partner of government for 20 years in providing affordable drivers’ licenses to the Filipino driving public. Ampi continuously evolved with the requirements of the (Land Transportation Office) LTO and continues to do so with the current systems upgrade,” Cuevas added.
Ampi, she said, continues to produce the old license cards which the LTO’s releases and that the recent disruption in the issuance of licenses was nothing more but a temporary technical glitch to an ISP problem.
Ampi is supplier of the country’s professional and non-professional driver’s license.
