Philippine Airlines pays debt

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the country’s regulatory body for civil aviation, welcomed the move by flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) to settle its P283-million outstanding accounts with the authority, saying that the money would be used to improve and upgrade its infrastructure.

According to CAAP Director General Ramon Gutierrez, the settlement by the airline of its  arrears for fiscal year 2011 is a big boost to the CAAP as far as its cash position is concerned in its effort to comply with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and to rectify the significant safety concerns (SSCs) raised by the Federal Aviation Administration that would merit the regaining Category 1 status.

Gutierrez added that the payment made by the new PAL management was a gesture of goodwill and commitment in developing trust and confidence between CAAP and PAL.

CAAP chief financial officer Dr. Abner Bondoc clarified, however, that CAAP continued to reconcile the PAL accounts for the year 2010 and backwards.

Bondoc said consultations between the two parties were ongoing to discuss the terms of payment which would be beneficial to both the regulator and the regulated.  Tina G. Santos

as long as PAL do not replace it’s fleet of steward and stewardesses, I will never use their services.  I had a bad experience with their services.  They always serve foreigners first before their countrymen.  What a shabby way to treat us.

So, now PAL is liquid. He he he. Kawawa naman ang mga PALEA members na hanggang ngayon, nag i i strike parin sa Terminal 2.  Their welfare was scrifice in favor of the new owner, and the SC has a big participation on these. They did not issue a TRO on the dismissal of permanent employees and the dismantling of their Labor Union. Kawawa talaga ang mga Pilipino sa sarili nilang bayan. Inaapi sila ng Chinese Dominated Government natin, kasama na si PNoy at ang SC na binubuo ng mga Chinese Judges.

I encourage Congress to pass a resolution to change PAL to San Miguel Airlines or Magnolia Airlines or could be BMEG Airlines.

Wala naman maipag malaki yang PAL sa atin bayan. The former Glory and Prestige of PAL is gone since it was handed over to this RICHE RICH business communities only utang and subsidies from govt then ibalik uli sa bayan once no more sap to suck.

Dont use PAL on your business SanMIG.

On a flight from Hong Kong to Manila, I ordered a bottle of perfume for my wife from a stewardess who was about 45 years old. She didn’t come back to me until the plane was already preparing for landing only to tell me that the purchase could no longer be done because we were landing. Not to be uncharitable, she is not your idea of a stewardess. I surmised that she got employed with PAL not on her merits but because of connections.
