Weight-loss, wellness program through nutrition

AT 240 pounds, even the simplest of tasks can be grueling for Bandola. ONLY the Cohen program was able to effectively reduce Bandola’s weight by a whopping 130 pounds.

LIFE AT 240 lb proved to be difficult for Dr. Angela Rodriguez-Bandola.

Even the simplest of tasks, such as finding clothes that would fit her, would already seem such a huge challenge for her.

Bandola, who has already tried all sorts of diets and weight-loss options, knew firsthand how painstakingly difficult it was to shed off those extra pounds. While she did lose weight at some point, she was unable to sustain it or at least maintain that weight.

FEATURED STORIES

“There are a lot of weight-loss options here in the Philippines. Some would range from medications, others would require machine treatments but there’s nothing like the Cohen program which is something that’s all natural and tailor-fit to one’s body,” Bandola shared.

Scientifically proven

The Cohen program, according to Bandola, is a scientifically proven weight-loss and wellness program through nutrition.

Bandola, who is cofounder of the program here in the Philippines, now weighs a fit 110 lb only after 13 months under the program—a living testament to the effectivity of the Cohen program.

Based on internationally accepted medical research, the Cohen program was formulated by Dr. Rami Cohen, MD, an international specialist renowned for his research on the hormones involved in obesity and weight loss.

“In essence Dr. Cohen found that people who are overweight or obese have a hormonal imbalance, particularly an imbalance between the human growth hormone which preserves muscle tissue and breaks down fat; insulin which regulates blood sugar levels and therefore stops hunger pangs and serotonin, which tells the body when it is full or satisfied,” she explained.

The extensive research also showed that people who suffer from “obesity syndrome,” have a low level of HGH and would release an unnaturally high level of insulin and serotonin which are not discharged correctly. As a result, obese people constantly crave for food and, despite how little or how much they eat, they still gain weight.

Bandola further noted that people who are overweight and who suffer from obesity-related diseases will thus benefit from undergoing the Cohen program as it will target the main cause of the problem.

Add to that, the Cohen program will also provide a tailor-fit program for each person, ensuring further its effectivity.

“It addresses your personal needs so that you will be able to stick to the program without feeling hungry and weak. With Cohen food becomes your medicine there’s no injection, pills, machines and meal replacements,” she explained.

Asked how it works, Bandola shared that the program starts with an information session that an individual needs to attend to get an overview of what the Cohen lifestyle is about.

Personalized eating plan

After which, each person will be given a blood test and the results are used to analyze their unique body chemistry. A personalized Eating Plan which triggers the body’s natural ability to shed off fat rapidly and safely is then developed to bring their hormones back in balance.

The Eating Plan consists of three meals a day taken in specific quantities from the basic food groups of protein, vegetable, fruit and carbohydrate.

Bandola added that during the course of the program, the client is asked to visit the center for consultations to monitor the client’s progress, address the issues and challenges and also to reinforce the motivation.

As soon as the desired body weight is reached, the next phase of the program called the Refeeding Program will be introduced.

“Dr. Cohen recommends that individuals get to that goal weight or what he calls metabolic equilibrium before they start on the Refeeding Program. It is in this phase where we slowly reintroduce different types of food and increase the quantities of the food to stimulate regular eating without upsetting the balance created by the Eating Plan,” Bandola explained.

However, Bandola stressed that maintenance after refeeding is a lifetime thing.

“It is a lifestyle change because it is not only food intake that you need to be mindful of. There are certain aspects also that Dr. Cohen requires such as adequate amount of sleep, water hydration and a balanced diet,” she concluded.
