Eye for details

With a world-class venue of unparalleled technology, Marriott will never run out of astounding moments to showcase. Accentuating the 12-foot high Grand Ballroom are opulent chandeliers and dazzling ceiling treatments by today’s top event stylists: Gideon Hermosa, Michael Ruiz and Teddy Manuel, or best known as the GMT.

With the help of Stage Riggers Inc., the hotel’s accredited partner, the production was able to create dramatic vertical movements on the chandeliers. Any organizer can go outside the box at Marriott because of its state-of-the art technology and design, which also featured high steel platforms and catwalks.

Exceptional executions

Just when you thought you have seen it all, Marriott left everyone in awe. In this year’s edition of “Marry Me at Marriott,” the hotel proved anew its commitment in making grand weddings come to life.

Guests were greeted by a lively foyer turned to a wedding boulevard. The 3rd Avenue band serenaded them with live entertainment as everyone posed for the camera, and across that were nine eye-catching, exceptional cake masterpieces by Marriott.

First for “Marry Me at Marriott” this year was the bridal fair featuring top wedding suppliers such as Pat Dy, Nice Print Photography, Jason Magbanua, Project Mayo 7, Write Impressions, Print Divas, Knotville, The Good Goods, Periwinkle and Lace, Albert Kurniawan, Tris Events, and Christine Ong-Te Events.

Also filling up the pre-function space was Cosmo Skin, which gave away beauty and bath products, including a skincare gift set, for all the 700 guests. Free-flowing Raffa sparkling wines from Emperador Distillers were passed around to cleanse palates before the sumptuous dinner ahead. It rained exciting discounts for overnight stays too.

Elaborate banquets

Headlining this year’s “Marry Me at Marriott” was the four-course wine dinner prepared for 700 persons. Complimenting Marriott’s wide-range of events spaces is its incredible catering services, which has been noted for its elaborate banquets that can serve a thousand guests.

The menu designed by Marriott Executive Chef Meik Brammer highlighted magnificent flavors and also the hotel’s culinary advocacies like sustainable seafood, organic produce and support for local cuisine.

An impressive start was the Sustainable Shrimp with chili spiked tomatinos, puree of ricotta and chives and frisee salad, paired with dry and well-balanced Gallo Chardonnay. Next was a Velvet Cauliflower Soup poured over a crispy mushroom Rangoon paired with Canyon Road Chardonnay.

The main course was a Grilled US Certified Beef Tenderloin Steak over a truffle potato puree and drizzled with parcini cabernet pan sauce, and paired with a glass of fruity-flavored Gallot Merlot. This gustatory experience ended with a Mango and Guava dessert dream paired with an equally delightful Barefoot Moscato.

Bridal parade

As soon as appetites were satisfied, the bridal show started as a feast for the eyes. The line up was an exciting mix of world-renowned fashion designers from different generations and of different aesthetics.

Opening the show was romanticist Rosenthal Tee whose collection was feminine and classy as worn by Lovi Poe and Ms International-Philippines Ahtisa Manalo. The modernist, Mak Tumang, was a breath of fresh air as he showed off excellent craftsmanship as seen on his beauty queen muses Valerie Weigman and Ms Universe-Philippines Catriona Gray. Closing the night was a global talent, Amir Sali, whose works wowed monarchs. From start to finish, Amir flaunted avant-garde and powerful pieces.

Memories for keeps

As if the entire night wasn’t a treat already, Marriott partnered with luxury brands for its special awards for standout guests.

Given away were lippies from Bobbi Brown; latest scents from Jo Malone London; jewelry pieces from Twin Princess Gems; and overnight stays in Marriott Hotel Manila, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Sheraton Manila and Marriott Clark.
