Expanding and providing home building solutions to Filipino homebuilders, Wilcon Depot has risen to become the country’s premiere home improvement and construction supplies retailer for four decades.
Last week, Wilcon Depot participated at the 24th National Retail Conference and Expo (NRCE) and Stores Asia Expo 2017.
Held annually, the NRCE, organized by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), is the biggest and most important retail industry event in the Philippines, gathering over 800 retailers owners, top-level retail executives, and industry suppliers. Gracing the event were retailer experts and VIP guests like Sen. Sonny Angara, Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, and Trade Undersecretary Teodoro Pascua, to name a few.
Wilcon Depot has consistently showed its support and participated in the Stores Asia Expo 2017. Wilcon’s booth was decorated with the extensive product line of Wilcon’s house brand in furniture and home interior, Heim.
Furthermore, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte delivered her message and joined in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Let us be responsible partners in achieving progress and development for the Philippines,” Duterte said in her message. Mayor Duterte also visited Wilcon’s booth together with Wilcon’s SEVP-chief operating officer Rosemarie B. Ong and PRA officials.

Wilcon founder and chairman emeritus William Belo received the most prestigious award as the “Patriarch of Home Building Retail” for the 12th President’s Award given by Philippine Retailers Association (PRA)and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) during the 20th Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year (OFR-SCY) Awards.
The Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year Awards seeks to honor the cream of the crop of Philippine retailing—retailers and shopping centers that epitomize the model of success and good ethical practices, and is considered as the “Oscars of the Philippine Retail Industry.”
William Belo leads the company with fortitude, good leadership, and strong reputation. He started his business with a 60-square meter store that has expanded into 38 big box outlet stores nationwide with combined retail space of over 230,000 sqm.
Aside from his recognition, the Wilcon Depot family also received an award as “Outstanding Specialty Retailer-Mega Category” during the awards night. Wilcon Depot won the title after showing excellence in selling and carrying closely related categories.
