Telco giant PLDT Inc. said it deployed new fixed-line internet infrastructure in the eastern portion of Metro Manila.

PLDT said in a statement this involved the expansion of its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services in a major part of the capital district that includes the cities of Antipolo, Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Caloocan, and the towns of Taytay, Cainta and Pateros.

The expansion added some 70,000 lines that would provide access to high-speed internet service to more homes in the country’s key urban centers.

“Our vision is to make Fibr-fast internet available to 4.4 million homes by the end of the year and we are working very hard to realize this vision,” PLDT first vice president and home business head Oscar Enrico A. Reyes Jr. said in the statement.
