PAL, Cebu Pacific offer refund, rebooking for Mindanao flights
The country’s top airlines have offered to refund or rebook tickets of passengers who may have reconsidered traveling to Mindanao in the light of the declaration of martial law.
Budget carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) and flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) opened the option for passengers who may be concerned over the situation in Southern Philippines.
CEB spokesperson Charo Lagamon said the airline’s operations in Mindanao remained normal with neither restriction nor limitation imposed on air travel.
Nevertheless, she advised passengers to allot sufficient travel time to the airports because of heightened security measures that could cause heavy traffic.
“Guests flying to and from any Cebu Pacific or Cebgo destination in Mindanao from May 25 to 31, 2017, who are concerned about traveling at this time may opt to rebook their tickets for free within 30 days; or place the cost of the ticket in a travel fund for future use,” Lagamon said.
Meanwhile PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the country’s flag carrier is offering passengers the options of rebooking, refunding or rerouting flights scheduled between May 24 and July 30 because of the declaration of martial law in Mindanao.
Villaluna particularly referred to flights bound for Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos, Ozamiz, Surigao and Zamboanga.
The PAL spokesperson said passengers may rebook their tickets within 90 days of their original flight date, reroute, or refund, all without penalty.
