As the founding and permanent partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), McDonald’s proudly supported RMHC’s Global Day of Change Oct 15, a one-day event, commemorating the opening of the first Ronald McDonald House in 1974, and encourages customers to donate their change at RMHC Donation Boxes located in McDonald’s restaurants around the world.

Customers can contribute to RMHC directly year-round through the Donation Boxes located on the front counter and drive-throughs at participating McDonald’s restaurants. No donation is too small, and every contribution helps RMHC keep families close to the care and resources their sick child needs.

For more than 41 years, RMHC has been helping families all over the world stay close to their sick children and to the care and resources they need. The McDonald’s system has supported RMHC, helping to make it possible for the charity to keep families close to the care and resources they need, which has been shown to positively impact health outcomes for children.

Every year, McDonald’s helps RMHC impact the lives of nearly 7 million children and their families worldwide thanks to funding and volunteer support from McDonald’s customer donations, McDonald’s owner/operators, restaurant and regional staff members and suppliers.

In 2015, McDonald’s customers donated more than $52 million dollars in spare change to RMHC through donation boxes worldwide. Since 2001, customers have donated almost $300 million dollars in spare change, in the RMHC donation boxes, to help RMHC provide services to millions of children and families each year.
