PSEi ends lower

/ 12:10 AM August 18, 2016

The local stock barometer dipped Wednesday as hawkish comments from US Federal Reserve officials curbed risk appetite across regional markets.

The main-share Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) lost 37.19 points or 0.47 percent to close at 7,946.19, tracking the overnight decline in US stocks.

Apart from talks that the US Fed might raise interest rates as early as September, a drop in oil prices also dampened sentiment across the region.
