/ 12:12 AM June 04, 2016

Thirty design leaders are featured in the latest issue of Metro Home & Entertaining magazine where the country’s best architecture and interior design talents showcase their craft. Aside from highlighting the stars of Filipino furniture design, the issue also covers beautiful homes uniquely designed by Atelier Almario, Budji Layug, Royal Pineda and Dan Lichauco.

Several design trends and table-setting ideas give readers options for creating new interior spaces and entertaining in style. Metro Home editor Anton Barretto packs this issue with insightful design stories and graphically beautiful layouts that promote creative Filipino talents.

Flood-control features

Known for his fresh and progressive Filipino design concepts, Jason Buensalido infuses Filipino values like optimism, personalization and adaptability to his work. His Project Smart Home is featured in the magazine as it introduces new concepts in residential design as a response to the changing climate conditions.

FEATURED STORIES

Commissioned by Philippine Realty TV, the specialized home has several flood-control features like a floating carport and a detachable balcony that could serve as a raft. For the rest of the features of Project Smart Home, visit the video channel and website www.philippinerealtytv.com and get great design ideas for homes at areas that easily flood.

Featured talents

Metro Home also included some designers who joined the recently concluded Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition (Worldbex) held at the World Trade Center. Designing sisters Ivy and Cynthia Almario, Chat Fores and I were some of the featured talents who participated in the exhibit that Wilcon Depot sponsored.

I have been a long-time partner of Wilcon Depot, and through the years, it was always consistent not only in terms of products and services, but also with engaging its partners, suppliers and customers to the many things it has to offer. As a designer, I truly appreciate all the efforts being made by Wilcon to bring its products and services to more Filipinos nationwide.

Always tagged as a company that builds “big ideas,” Wilcon never ceases to prove that it is the leading home merchandise store in the country. It has elevated the level of its services year by year, and opened several new branches. After its participation at Worldbex, Wilcon opened its latest branch in Bacoor, Cavite.

Stunning home office

Aside from Wilcon Depot sponsoring my booth, Moss Manila Home furnished elegant details of my showcase. Talented designer Cyndi Fernandez of Moss Manila Home assisted me in creating a stunning, classic home office in rich shades of green and gold. The custom-made elegant furniture pieces for my vignette are now on display at the Moss Manila Home at 1 Granada Street, Gilmore, Quezon City. Visit its store and enjoy the exquisite home décor and accessories for all design styles. The shop is open daily except Sundays.

Themed “Worldbex 2016: Uniting Strong Foundations,” the event put a spotlight on interior design luminaries who mounted gallery vignettes that showcased their design philosophies, and reflected the prolific development of the country’s construction and design industry.

Nippon Paint (Coatings) Philippines collaborated with notable interior designers Johnny Hubilla, Michael Pizarro and Rogelio Caringal, who used the innovative Nippon Paint Momento Special Effect Paint to bring more life to their respective gallery designs.

Two lines

A revolutionary textured paint series that allows one to add texture to the walls, Nippon Paint Momento comes in two lines—the Textured Paint Series, a premium line of opaque paint featuring Elegant, Sparkle Pearl, Sparkle Silver and Sparkle Gold special effects; as well as the Enhancer Series, a semitransparent glaze-over featuring Frost and Cloud special effects.

Enhanced by Nippon Paint Momento, Hubilla’s vignette creatively exuded native and indigenous inspirations while Pizarro’s gallery manifested a harmonious fusion of classic visions and modern perspectives; and Caringal reflected his value for aesthetics as well as form and function.
