THE AYALA Land Inc. (ALI)-Mercardo consortium unveiled on Monday a 105-bed general hospital at Altaraza Town Center in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, the first brand-new full-service hospital under the QualiMed healthcare network to be built in Luzon.

The establishment of QualiMed Hospital in Ayala Land’s 100-hectare Altaraza – the first masterplanned estate in San Jose del Monte – is seen to complete and enhance the quality of life in this development and the communities within and near Bulacan, the property developer said.

“QualiMed Hospital – San Jose Del Monte in Altaraza has the quality service, ambience, and medical capabilities of a premier city hospital, but at a more affordable price point. The presence of QualiMed Hospital supports the comprehensive and sustainable lifestyle offerings in the Altaraza estate and will greatly benefit the surrounding community as well,” ALI Capital Corp. Alfonso Javier Reyes said in a press statement.

Coinciding with the opening of QualiMed Hospital – San Jose Del Monte is the launch of QualiMed Physician Associates Inc. (QPA), the doctor-engagement arm of QualiMed. QPA, with its strict screening and credentialing processes, seeks to enlist the best and most qualified doctors to serve in QualiMed facilities.

Edwin Mercado, president and CEO of QualiMed and QPA, said: “We established QPA with the objective of having properly aligned and committed doctors in our facilities. From the city center to the provinces, we want our services to be consistent in terms of affordability, accessibility, and appropriateness, thus making them more patient-friendly. We will realize this by making sure that all components of our services follow internationally accepted and recognized standards – from our medical equipment and processes, to our ancillary teams, back offices, and even our doctors. Also, we will continuously provide local and offshore training activities to keep our doctors up-to-date in terms of medical knowledge and capabilities.”

Facilities under the QualiMed Health Network include the following: parent hospital Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center (DMMC) in Tanauan City, Batangas; QualiMed Clinics in Makati, TriNoma, and UP Town Center; QualiMed Surgery Centers in Manila and Fairview Terraces; and, QualiMed Hospital in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Upcoming facilities include QualiMed Hospital in Sta. Rosa, Laguna (opening in first quarter of 2017); QualiMed Clinic in Cebu IT Park, Cebu City (opening in third quarter of 2016); and QualiMed Clinic in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig (opening in third quarter of 2016).
