Silver for Robinsons Place Tacloban

Following the devastation caused by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” in 2013, the reopening of Robinsons Place Tacloban has become a momentous community milestone as it signified not only the rebuilding of one of the city’s biggest commercial establishments but also the symbolic restoration of the community’s faith and optimism.

On Oct. 20, 2015, the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) Asia Pacific Center Awards recognized the dedication invested in Robinsons Place Tacloban’s reopening with a Silver Award for Marketing Excellence, besting 172 other entries from all over Asia Pacific.

The award was granted to Robinsons Land Corp.’s commercial centers division and was received by division general manager Arlene G. Magtibay during an awarding ceremony in Taipei.

According to RLC’s entry to the ISCS Asia Pacific Center Awards, “the re-opening conveyed to residents a sense of normality returning to the region. The hand of friendship was extended to the community with Robinsons Place Tacloban reopening as the community’s friend and hub, where locals could once again enjoy themselves and come together to bond with family and friends.”

Founded in 1957, ICSC is a global trade association that aims to advance the shopping center industry and promote its role in the commercial distribution of consumer goods and services.

ALI named best developer

Ayala Land Inc. is the Best Overall Developer in the Philippines once again, according to Euromoney’s Real Estate Survey 2015. ALI ranked first in the survey’s Residential, Retail, Office/Business, Leisure/Hotel, and Mixed-use Developer industry rankings—sweeping all categories on the way to winning the overall award.

Euromoney’s 11th Annual Real Estate Survey canvassed the opinions of real estate advisers, developers, investment managers, corporate end-users and banks worldwide, and recognized firms that are considered the best providers of real estate products and services in their market over the past 12 months. Euromoney magazine was created in 1969, and has since been one of the most trusted financial publications worldwide.

ALI has topped the survey of the prestigious Euromoney magazine in various categories for 11 consecutive years, since it was first run in 2005. It has also received numerous awards for management, sustainability and governance this year alone, including being named the best managed real estate company in the Philippines by Finance Asia in its 2015 Best Companies in Asia awards.
