Prudentialife continues payment of claims

Educational plan holders of shuttered Prudentialife Plans Inc. will receive their second tranche of claims starting next month, the Insurance Commission said.

In a statement, Insurance Commissioner (IC) Emmanuel F. Dooc said the checks will be distributed beginning Sept. 21 until Nov. 13 at Prudentialife’s head office at 118 Gamboa Street, Makati City.

The distribution of the second tranche of liquidation proceeds will be from Mondays to Fridays, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Plan holders may visit the Insurance Commission website to view specific claiming schedules.

“Claim servicing would be done according to the amount of checks, as follows: Sept. 21 to Oct. 2 for checks P10,000 and above; Oct. 5-16 for checks P5,000-10,000; Oct. 19-30 for checks P2,000-5,000; and Nov. 2-13 for checks P2,000 and below,” Dooc said.

Plan holders are required to present a valid government-issued identification card upon claiming.

Proceeds from the sale of Prudentialife’s 1,100-sqm property in Bonifacio Global City will be used to pay the claims.
