Even if summer is over, creating a relaxed sense of refinement with hand-detailed furniture is possible with the signature collections from Crate & Barrel. The international retail chain recently opened its flagship store at the SM Annex in Makati. With its unique offering of quality and top-notch customer service, the store shall mark the brand’s flagship store in the Philippine market.
At more than 2,800 square meters, the new location is Crate & Barrel’s largest store in the Philippines. The clean-lined store showcases the brand’s “Shore” Spring Collection and other signature collections of houseware and seasonal accessories and a complete line of indoor and outdoor furniture.
Being the flagship store in the Philippines, the new store was designed with both the local aesthetic and customer convenience in mind. The architecture features attractive, understated materials such as warm-toned wooden siding, glass and brick for the exteriors complementing the cedar, pickled pine and painted white wood interior. Abundant entry windows shower the store with natural light and provide a dramatic setting for the brand’s collections.
Impressive displays are seen throughout the shop. A generous farmhouse-inspired oval table is arranged with several Crate & Barrel items like Marin White dinnerware in artisanal ceramic shapes that are glazed with subtle hand-antiquing on the free form rims. Pranzo II Vamelie’s hand-detailed oak veneer top is elegantly paired with a clean-lined warm white apron and legs. Pranzo II Vamelie oval dining table is a Crate & Barrel exclusive.
For a Mediterranean color scheme, the Como Dinnerware has the artistry of Paola Navone’s palette of blues that is inspired by her world experiences and life by the sea—the deep blue of Moroccan tiles, the Turkish isles and the aquamarine seas of the Greek Isles. Organic shapes in white porcelain dinnerware transform the table into a playful puzzle with bold strokes in rich tones of blue.
Refined workstation
An elegant kitchen island serves as a rustic yet refined workstation for the home cook or entertaining enthusiast. Bluestone is crafted with reclaimed pine from old buildings and doors and a lustrous slab of bluestone. The Bluestone Kitchen Island is a Crate & Barrel exclusive.
The bold, rustic Big Sur dining table is all about the sheer raw beauty of nature. Each organic piece of solid European white oak reveals its family tree, with legs crafted of a single piece of heartwood exposing the trunk’s inner rings. The Big Sur dining table is another Crate & Barrel exclusive.
The Arch platform bed modernizes classic cottage styling without sacrificing an ounce of charm. Freshly dressed in crisp white, the streamlined curves on the bed’s headboard and footboard combine with subtly tapered legs for a light, open feel. Designed by Blake Tovin, the airiness of this queen bed is enhanced by its cutaway headboard.
The Nash entryway cabinet is yet another Crate & Barrel exclusive. This minimalist pairing of white Carrera marble and warm wood is an elegant entryway option that’s equally at home in any room.
For the outdoor pieces, weather-resistant polystyrene translates the beautiful grain and warm tones of natural Brazilian ipe wood into a stylish collection designed for the great outdoors. The Rocha outdoor chaise lounge is a Crate & Barrel exclusive that will surely enhance any outdoor setup.
