Uniquely original in its design and essence with a European contemporary flair, Casa Bella Home and Living is an exciting new furniture concept shop at The Fort. Young owners Joseph Tay and Stephanie Coyiuto-Tay have recently opened this well-curated shop carrying a selection of several furniture lines.

The dynamic couple has been in the furniture retail business for several years now but has recently opened a branch at the brand-new MDI Corporate Center building in Bonifacio Global City. This new location showcases their top four stellar brands namely Moroso, Kettal, Driade and Santa & Cole.

What started out a store carrying one brand, Casa Bella now houses eight different lines of furniture—complete from sofa sets, dining tables, outdoor furniture and accessories, to beds and accent pieces. “We want to cater to every look. However, at the opening of our Casa Bella showroom, we showcased our top four main brands—Moroso, Kettal, Driade and Santa & Cole,” Stephanie mentions.

FEATURED STORIES

The opening of the showroom is a culmination of a series of activities the busy couple Joseph and Stenie engaged in the past year. Last summer, the couple, together with good friends—architect Ed Calma and wife Suzy Calma, architect Alfred Wieneke and wife Cecile Wieneke, Jin Perez (of jinlovestoeat.com) and business partner Dana Uy, embarked on a week-long design trip to Spain. A growing design hub, Barcelona was a feast for the senses and was the inspiration for the design of the Kettal section of the Casa Bella Home and Living showroom in Manila.

Best in the world

“We are particularly proud of our outdoor furniture line Kettal. It is I must say, without bias, the best in the world. Its subdued hues are a contrast to our home furniture line Moroso’s richer tones. But they work well together and Kettal truly is a good fit for any Filipino home,” Joseph says.

Established in 1966, Kettal of Spain is one of the world’s largest outdoor furniture manufacturers. It has decades of making poolside and garden furniture such as deck chairs, sofas, dining chairs and tables. Among others, Kettal has furnished the outdoor areas of Grand Sheraton in Dubai, Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona, La Spiga-Doha Hotel & Residences, Hotel Le Cinq Codet in Paris, Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum, Turkey, and the Shangri-La in Paris. It works with world-class designers such as Patricia Urquiola and Rodolfo Dordoni for the design of its products.

Flying in for the successful launch was Patrizia Moroso, owner and creative director of Moroso. Her company has been working in close collaboration with some of the world’s most talented designers to produce luxury sofas and seating since 1952.

Moroso has always been open to new ideas creating unique products by drawing on the worlds of industrial design, contemporary art and fashion. This Italian company has been farsighted, daring and certain of the advantage of combining craftsmanship and tailoring with industrial processing techniques.

Driade is an aesthetic lab in continuous search for beauty in the living space. The vast Driade collection includes furniture for the home and garden that have a unique approach in the design universe. The search for creativity in each product constitutes the mission of the enterprise itself. Driade creates Italian-made products that are eclectic and eccentric but at the same time elegant, timeless and above all, joyful.

Santa & Cole is lighting company from Barcelona that lives for industrial design. Since 1985, the young company has been committed to generating high-quality products that improve the way we live in our surroundings in our public and private lives, at home, in the office, and in the city. It seeks to offer objects that stimulate and enrich the user.
