Business owners can now tap solar power at zero down payment with the freedom to choose their term length as Solar Philippines said it has launched the pay-what-you-save business program for companies looking to break free from highest-in-the-world electricity rates.

“Solar has gained the reputation of being expensive, not because of the technology, but because previous efforts were too small to benefit from economies of scale,” Solar Philippines president Leandro L. Leviste said.

Pay-what-you-save business program aims to provide businesses an alternative solution to their power needs amid a backdrop of a looming power crisis and a global shift to clean, renewable energy.

By promoting a distributed generation model, electricity is generated on-site and allows consumers to be co-producers of electricity, lessening dependence on electricity supplied by the grid.

Several SMEs are now enjoying the benefits of going solar, having found the value of partnering with Solar Philippines in reducing their electricity costs and their carbon footprint.

From car dealerships such as Toyota San Pablo, plastic manufacturers such as Tri-Pack Philippines to industrial supply and retailers Davao Diamond in Mindanao, businesses all over the country are enjoying up to 50-percent savings in their utility bills.

Through the pay-what-you save business program, Solar Philippines empowers business owners to build solar plants specific to customer conditions such as applicable utility rates, electricity demand profile and operating hours.

Qualified business establishments will be able to choose how much they are willing to invest up front and pick from terms in the range of 3, 5, 7, 10 and 15 years.

Dedicated account managers will study financial, technical and operational considerations in coming up with solar solution options tailored to the client’s needs. Ownership of the solar power plant transfers to the customer after the payment term.
